Her birthplace was Roswell on the 29th of March 1985. Gerina Michelle Mendoza has been her given name. Gerina Stevenson was born to Mexican parents Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. Stevenson is American and has Mexican-American heritage. Since her early years, her desire to be engaged in sport was strong. Gerina started playing golf at the age of she turned 15 years old. Gerina went to Goddard High School. She was the winner of New Mexico's state golf championship. The volleyball abilities of her were recognized at the national level. She was enrolled at Texas's University of Texas, Texas during the 2003 academic year. She took home all the events she took part in throughout her final years. During her undergraduate career she was named Conference USA individual champion player of the year as well as UTEP Female Athlete of the Year.
